Paying attention??

Just made a couple changes (1 unwillingly) to my Blog... can you spot the differences?
Yes... the ESI Grips sponsorship (super-cool colourful grips)...
And... the change in Age Category... moving up (is it really Up?) to the 40-44 category... also know as "Really Old Guys Who Can Still Ride Pretty Quick"....
Although there will be some great competition .... and some guaranteed Fireworks in a few races with the likes of Jobin, Berger, Everaert, Cooney and Holgrem.... promises to be tons of fun!!!!

Enough already!!!

The ski hills are closed. The roads are dry. March Break is past. PG, Adam and Karlee are racing in the heat. Easter is almost here. So why is it STILL snowing around here?!!!?! Seriously... I love winter and all but enough is enough....

Not much of a Break...

March Break is supposed to be about relaxing and recharging your batteries... Unless you're a competitive cyclist in which case you log as many hours as possible in any sort if weather. 9 days off school and I got in 20hrs of riding, running, strength and hockey.... Need to go back to work to get some rest ...

Me Myself and I

Been enjoying more than a few late night rides in the dark... Just point it north and find some quiet roads for solo training... Although dead batteries create an aura of mystery and isolation that allows the mind to wander...
Jake asked me before I left "Daddy... What do you think about when you ride?"
My simple response ... "Nationals"...

Family Fun on the Hills

Got to spend an Amazing Family Day weekend down in Ellicotville (thanks Barry for the use of the house!!) skiing and enjoying the great snow.... the weather was great, the snow was perfect and the hills were well worth the drive... although we had a few chuckles about the many Hill Members who brought Slow Cookers filled with chili, stew and soup for lunch.... it was a battle for the Plugs!!!!

3 Happy Skiers enjoying the slopes of Holimont... also had a chuckle about the Hill Members who pulled wine, beer and liquor out of their lunch bags after claiming their Lunch Spot with table clothes and candles...

Sue and Jake "the Beast" getting ready to challenge yet another Black Diamond.... and yet more chuckles about the Hill Members (3 old guys) who set up their table with 6 bottles of liquor at 9:30am and were still there at lunch time when we returned.... these guys are Hard Core!!!

Our 2nd day there was filled with Fat Snow falling... making the hills great for skiing.. but the temperature warmed up to -12 (not including a stiff wind in the face) in the afternoon.... "MORE Hot Chocolate???"

Jake's signature.... if only it were that easy to make them Angelic....
